Senior Usher's
President: Brother A. H. Jones, Sr.
Mission Statement: To usher and serve our Church to the
best of our ability.
Goals/Objectives: to help the Church with
expenses and upkeeps.
Brief History: The late Brother James Peters
served as President 1940-1980. Sister Sarah Williams
served as President 1980-1987. Brother A. H. Jones is
now the President of the auxilliary and has served in
that capacity since 1087.
In 1980 we had 8-10 Ushers. Today we have 42 very
good members working together very peacefully.
Young People’s Choir
President: Siedah Gaines
Mission Statement: “Oh, Magnify the Lord.”
Goals/Objectives: Continue growing spiritually in the
Lord by lifting our voices to serve Him.
Brief History: We have rendered muiscal selections as
the Youth Choir of St. John’s for many years. With the
growth of the group, we became the St. John’s Y. P. C.
(St. John’s Young People’s Choir) This June 2007, will
be our 26th year of Praising the Lord with
our voices!
St. John’s Combined
Choir
President: Lillie Merritt
Mission: To serve on 1st, 3rd and
5th Sunday
Goal/Objectives Spread the Gospel through Music and Song
History: The Combined Choir is composed of the St.
John’s Gospel Chorus, Senior Choir and Pastor’s
Inspirational Choir. The three choirs became one choir
in 1998. God Bless.

Male Chorus
President: Benjamin Boyd
Mission Statement: Perform musical selections on 1st
and 3rd Sunday of each month for worship
services.
Goals/Objectives: To reach the unsaved and motivate and
inspire the saved through the ministry of music.
Brief History: The Male Chorus was originally organized
under the leadership of Rev. C. C. Sharpe in 1960 with
Deacon Grier as Director, Eric Johnson as President and
Mrs. Richketson as pianist. After years of service, the
male chorus is still actively serving und the direction
of Bro. Benjamin Boyd (President), Deacon Floyd Jackson
(Vice-President), Deaconess Ernestine Buchanan
(Organist) and Deacon Jesse Grier as Director.
Trustee Aid Board
President: Trustee Aide Travis Perry
Mission
Statement and Objective: It is the desire of the Trustee
Aide Board to support and assist the Trustees of this church
with all projects that are designed to maintain and enhance
the appearance and physical structure of the Sanctuary. We
will also continue to be in accordance with best business,
safety and risk-management policies and practices.

Goals/Objectives: to reach, educate fellowship and equipt.
With the knowledge necessary to meet the many challenges
that are encountered in today’s society.
Media Ministry
Chairperson: Evangelist J. C. Spann
Mission
Statement: The goal of the Media Ministry is to use familiar
areas of communication and technology to reach the
“churched” as well as the “unchurched.” Through various
forms of that technology, the word of God will be spread
through all the world.
Brief
History: Formed in the early1990's, this auxiliary was
birthed and began as the Radio Ministry. Initially,
recording services and making tapes available was the
group’s responsibility. , The vision of the Pastor has
enabled the new Media Ministry to explore avenues of how to
use the “information highway” to reach all nations. It is
with this task in mind each Sunday the mission is carried
out to, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations....”(Matthew
28:19)
